Finding Joy (and Exhaustion) in the extraordinary Working Mom Life

Today was one of those full, exhausting, beautiful days.

It started early — a long day at the office, where the meetings stacked up one after another. Deadlines, messages, to-do lists… they never really end, do they? By the afternoon, I was already dreaming about being home, hearing my daughter’s giggles, feeling her small arms around my neck.

I rushed from work to daycare, picked her up, and the second she saw me, her whole face lit up. Somehow, that moment makes everything else — the exhaustion, the emails, the endless tasks — disappear for a little while. We played around the living room, chased each other laughing, and then sat down to share dinner as a family. Small, simple, perfect moments.

After bedtime — after bath, stories whispered, kisses planted on a sleepy forehead — I turned the lights off in her room… and opened my laptop again.

The second shift begins.

Emails to send. Spreadsheets to work on. A few more hours of work to catch up on what the day didn’t allow. It’s not glamorous. Some days I feel strong, proud of what I’m building and the career I have. Other days, like today, I feel stretched thin between being the mom I want to be and the professional I want to be.

But here’s what I’m learning:
There is beauty in the balance — even when it’s messy.

This is the life we’re creating:
A home full of laughter, love, resilience, and yes — tired evenings filled with quiet victories.

Maybe not every day feels extraordinary.
But every bedtime, every dinner, every whispered “mama” reminds me that this life — full and imperfect — is exactly what I once dreamed of.

And that’s enough.

If you’re a mom balancing career and life, I’d love to hear how your evenings look like. Let’s remind each other we’re not alone.
